Independence Day, July 4
Most Americans understand that Independence Day, July 4, 1776 was the day the Second Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain.
It’s a day of celebration, cookouts, beer, loud music, family gatherings and at least in the past — fireworks. However, at least in my state, fireworks are extremely dangerous due to the high fire danger and therefore illegal. Don’t do it.
Unfortunately, many people who live here —citizens and non-citizens and illegals have no concept of the meaning of July 4, 1776 in the history of this great country, and I fear, they don’t care at all. They only care that the U.S. government cares and provides services for them, whether they pay taxes or not.
The photo on this blog piece shows the U.S. National symbol, the Bald Eagle, and the Stars and Stripes, our flag, that I proudly fly at my house. Yes, the bald eagle in the photo is not real, but very realistic and carved intricately from wood, by hand. I will explain below, if you read this piece entirely. Unfortunately, a recent poll says 27% of Americans who belong to a certain party, (figure it out), refuse to fly this flag due to hatred of our country and at least, disrespect. There is not another reason to explain it.
Here are some truths that I will espouse on this Independence Day:
- If you hate our country, or despise the flag, then leave our beautiful country immediately, and stop complaining about the blessings this country gives you, including your welfare benefits. Go live in a communist country of your choice, as you asked for.
- If you are here illegally, and collect tax payer benefits for food, housing assistance, schools etc., attack ICE, then, you are a low life and have no right to be here, sucking on our generosity. I know LEGAL immigrants personally, and they love that they have been given the opportunity to live here, and yes, they became U.S. citizens legally, the right way, and actually learned our history in order to become citizens. They did not cross the border and evade the law. They love our country and its boundless opportunities.
- There is no such thing as a “birthright” for U.S citizenship for babies of Illegal aliens because they came here, either through Chinese baby mills to flood us with Chinese baby citizens, or crossing the border pregnant, just to become automatic citizens. In fact, this is an illogical and scary determination by the Supreme Court and likely will change the face of America, allowing all people who come illegally, even on vacation, to have citizen babies who can vote. And also, terrorists or those who hate us, can also come and have baby citizens to eventually become citizens and perhaps politicians.
- If you are here illegally, and you commit a crime or harm, rape or kill our citizens ICE will come for you and you will be deported.
Now, that’s all I will say about that. I do know that more people feel the way I do, than you realize, they are just quiet and do not riot and attempt to harm our great country.
Enjoy Independence Day, look for bald eagles, and sing the Star-Spangled Banner loudly during sports games to show you are a proud American!
P.S. The Bald Eagle in the picture was hand-carved from a block of wood with intricate detail in the feathers, for me personally by my late patient, Jerry, who was an amazing man —a policeman who was shot several times in the line of duty, but he was also not just a patient, but a friend, who always enjoyed sharing stories with me during our office visits, especially about Clint Eastwood, our favorite actor, among other things.
Rest in peace Jerry.

Well said Dr. Carson! Well said! Thank you for being a bold voice crying in the wilderness shouting that freedom should be cherished. You speak for so many of us who do not have a platform. My father, among so many others, sacrificed so much to keep that flag flying high. I am always a bit perplexed when I see that so much of the world hates the USA, but yet they all want to come here and live. Hmmmm. It tells me that deep down at a soul searching level, there is a remote possibility that they feel freedom is a wonderful thing. And if they are coming here to destroy America, perhaps they need to move to North Korea and see what it feels like to have no freedom, no rights. A place where speaking out gets an entire family killed. They will quickly change their minds and want to return to this amazing country. Dr. Carson I think you should name your Eagle “Challenger” in honor of the retired eagle that was blown out of its nest as a baby eaglet and was trained to fly in stadiums. I wish I could thank Jerry for his service. What a talent. And thank you Dr. Carson for your service to others, your healing hands, and your fearless voice. This is a piece to share with others “immediately”.
Freedom isn’t free! Love the shoutout to your friend Jerry, the hand-carved eagle looks incredibly real. Sing the Anthem loud, keep the fireworks safely put away, and have a fantastic Independence Day, Carson!
Jerry did an absolutely stunning job on that wood carving, but I have a feeling the handsome author standing next to that flag is the real view! Glad you’re keeping the neighborhood safe from fire hazards, Carson. Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸❤️
I promise to sing the Star-Spangled Banner as loudly as possible during the next game, Carson! But honestly, after reading this passionate post, I think you’re the real firework here today. Stay safe, skip the illegal explosives, and have a beautiful 4th of July!
