I Need a Friend for This One

I have been working on this novel, a thriller, for about 5 years now. The world has changed a lot during the writing process, but interestingly, the topics that are embedded in this work of fiction are still germane —perhaps even more now. Actually, recent geo-political events make my fictional book seem real, and therefore, much scarier than a ghost story.  But the thing is, this is not your typical thriller, and it has a spiritual side to it that is unique.

The title:  Blue Shadows.

I recently pitched it to a literary agent, and she has requested the full manuscript for review to see if she will represent me. She liked the story, especially the twist on a theme that I can’t tell you about now.  I told her it needed a little editing and she kindly said, take your time.  So here I am editing it again for the 20th time, I think, and now I am stuck on a certain scene.  I need to change this scene a little, maybe expand it, my structural editor said.   Water down some of the intensity.  However, she liked the romantic scenes and said I could be a romance writer if I wanted and that I need to add more.   So, I said to myself no way man!  There’s enough damn romance in this piece.  I have a story to tell that will knock you to the floor, then pick you up again, knock you down again, then as you keep running and running quickly to the end you keep cheering and hoping and then…

So, I am stuck now.  At this scene.  I have been stuck before, but dragged myself out and safely out of the hole, found myself swimming up river again.

I need a friend.

Someone to help drag me out of this quagmire again.

So, I found a friend tonight, to help me finish the scene.

His name is Glen

Full name is The Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, 12 years double oak aged.

Thanks Glen.  I may not finish tonight but I appreciate your support.
