Occasionally she will drink a beer if she feels the urge, but this is rare.  For example, at a baseball game when the vendor yells, “cold beer here”, or when she goes to a movie theater and absolutely must eat messy buttered popcorn, which of course, is mandatory.  On rare occasions, she will succumb to a martini, but this is even more rare than beer, because she doesn’t like to feel like she is losing control when the vodka races to her head.

No.  Red wine, it must be, for this divine symphony of feminine perfection. It could be a cabernet, especially when she is eating a juicy steak at a restaurant with a lucky man, or at the intermission of a symphony performance or a perhaps a theater production —and of course, this is where she attracts the most attention, not just because of her elegant dress with slits on the side and stylish heals, but the way she drinks it:  it’s as if the wine seeks her mouth naturally, as much as she yearns for the taste.  And of course, she loves a smooth Pinot Noir, just as much, when she desires a lighter taste and a less sophisticated atmosphere.  On warmer summer evenings, she may request a merlot, or red blend with a careful selection of cheeses to suit the wine she has selected.  She may even take a merlot on a picnic in the park, or even in her backpack, with apples and cheese when she and her man lay on a blanket after a not too strenuous hike.

She does not however, drink bad wine. Life is too short for her tongue and luscious mouth to not be satisfied to the fullest when she chooses.  She will only receive the best. As far as white wine with fish or pork, and red wine only with red meat, she does not care at all for these wine drinking rules.  Red wins out for her, not matter what the food, except for the salty examples we discussed earlier.

She never holds the wine by the bowl, only the stem, just like she was taught when she went to Bordeaux to sample the French wines at the Chateaux.  It is not good to warm the wine with the palm of your hand, and it also does not look very charming.  This divine symphony of feminine perfection must be careful in public though, when attending a party filled with people she doesn’t know, for example, because frequently she will develop “red wine commas” on the top of her upper lip. These faint red commas are painted whether she wears red lipstick or not, and are from the wine adoring the contours of her lip. She will ask her date frequently where her comma is, and then, she will wipe it off.  But at these social events or dinner parties, she may have to drink white wine, to avoid these embarrassing commas. This is the sacrifice she will do because she is self-conscious, but receives very minimal pleasure from the boring white wine.  Most men however, seem to enjoy this faint red coloration of her lip and say nothing, hoping to enjoy the fascinating view as long as possible, wondering what her mouth tastes like, until she figures it out.

When the wine gently enters her mouth, she does not swallow it immediately, but instead, lets the wine travel to the back of her tongue to caress her taste buds properly, and she never gulps, but instead, the wine slides down gently and naturally, the way the wine wants and she demands.  She must sniff the wine first, letting the aroma of oak and cherry invade her nostrils that flare a little to take in the lovely scent, then, she closes her eyes briefly as she takes that first sip and feels the warm soothing pleasure.

It’s important to know however, that if she feels comfortable and attracted to the man she knows well, she may let him do Bruderschaff with her, and if she does this, the man will be floating on silky clouds, because this is quite rare. With Bruderschaff, German for brotherhood, the man and woman drink with arms intertwined at the elbows, then they kiss while drinking, each looks into each other’s eyes.

She is not easy to win over, because she only expects the best, but if you offer her good red wine, laughter, good conversation and honesty, and then she offers you Bruderschaff, you are a lucky man indeed.
