Just received the copyeditor’s review of my manuscript. My eyes are a little red, but it doesn’t look too bad. He or she wants me to review their suggestions and say “accept” or “decline”. Main thing is that they are preserving my “voice”, you know, my writer’s “attitude” or “view” on the story. Damn right. Keep your word – smashing hands off my story!

I appreciate the basic grammar help and typos even though I thought I had it pretty clean. Perhaps I missed a few things, or maybe a lot of things but they don’t look major. Seems the more I stare at this more I realize I made the right decison to take the easy route and go to college, medical school, internship, residency, and fellowship. Yeah that was a little easier than writing novels.

But I keep looking at that wine in my cabinet. It’s smoothness is beckoning me away yet somehow promising to allow me to continue with my edit review, with all my faculities intact. Should I believe the call of the wine, or should I be strong?

I think it will loosen up my mind enough to benefit the novel.
