My Response to Reader Sha
Reader Sha submitted this prompt: Teach everything you know
This prompt is difficult but I have decided to simplify it into five simple teachings that I have learned in my life, or have been taught, that will guide us in the right way in life.
First: The greatest commandment: Mark 12:29: Jesus told the religious leaders: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind and all your strength and love your neighbor as yourself. There is no command greater than these.
This teaching is very simple, not advanced calculus, and in my view, the most important teaching for all of us.
This one is actually 1 through 50, so the rest will resume at 51
Fifty-one: This one is from little old me. It seems the more you learn and the more you study and experience in life, the moment you think you know it all, you then realize you know hardly nothing at all. So, I would say, learn as much as you can and try to make a difference in life for others and for the world with your knowledge and skill. But remember, the more you think you know, it soon becomes obvious to you that you know next to nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Fifty-two: Practice Humility at all times. Whatever your job or your talent, I am sure you will be good at what you love to do because you have talent and you work your tail off. However, always remember, there will always be someone someone who is better than you. Don’t be arrogant with your skill and don’t be envious but instead, when you meet that person who may have more talent, congratulate them and compliment them for the job well done. It will make you a better and stronger person.
Fifty-three: Work hard at your goal and never give up. Even when you are exhausted, or failing in some ways, don’t give up. Try again and again and eventually you will succeed. Be patient and don’t listen to others who say you don’t have a chance or may fail. Just so you know, I was told when I was leaving a certain military academy to pursue the field of medicine that I would fail in the civilian world. Now, this experienced colonel told me this, I know, because he wanted me to stay to scare me, and not leave, but nevertheless, at my young age I bristled at this and proved him wrong because I dedicated myself to hard work and success.
Fifty-four: Knowledge: This is my own quote from 2016 on my blog. Please read it Knowledge | SR Carson 2016. I published it on paperback, Inspired in the Bedroom, 2022:
Here it is: Knowledge will not supersede truth, and truth will not supersede love. With all three, you will never fear death.
I think that is all I want to say right now, and that’s enough. That’s all the knowledge i have to impart.
