Reader Participation Challenge
Someone reminded me that I wrote somewhere before: “I write whatever hijacks my brain.” While this is true, my brain may be willing to listen to ideas suggested by my readers about what a future blog may be about.
Some time ago, I asked my massive horde of voracious readers what were the favorite topics from SRCarson.com. The number one answer was Ollie and his adventures, and a close second place was She loves to…followed by Silliness and humor.
Don’t worry. Those themes will continue because Ollie is forever, and well, “She” loves a lot of things, you know. Silliness and humor are mandatory.
Here is the challenge to my readers: Please submit a writer’s prompt, one prompt per reader. A writer’s prompt is one or two sentences only (not more) that trigger a writer to write impromptu, with the theme triggered by that sentence. For example: You are walking down a deserted beach, and an old man is walking towards you, with a cane, and as he passes by you, you read his T Shirt. (Sound familiar?)
I will review all the prompts submitted, probably while drinking a scotch, and will choose one or two to consider writing about. I reserve the right of course, to refuse and just enjoy the scotch and listen to music, possibly with a cigar while coyotes howl in the woods in the background of my deck. There is always a possibility it could trigger me to write a novel or screenplay and it will end up on the silver screen. The copyright will be mine of course, however, you will be acknowledged on the movie credits, or perhaps, be an actor or actress in the movie.
So tell me, are there any readers out there who think they can hijack my brain enough to tickle the sparkling tentacles of my cortical neurons and write something?
Any takers?

There should be a scientific name for it. I thought that picking up a few items from the grocery store before the storm hit at midnight would be a good idea. I was wrong.

She told him, with the kind of smile that only comes from surviving too many betrayals, “they are allergic to life,” as though mortality itself were an espionage plot. He realized then that her diagnosis was not medical, but a coded warning that loving her would be as fatal as crossing enemy lines.
