Lake MIchigan
Now that my book is closer to publication, the publisher sent to me 15 audio files of professional voice actors, or at least I assume they were professional, and I was asked to choose one to do the audio narration of my book.
I tell you what, this was a difficult project. I listened to all fifteen of them and even asked a few people for their opinions, and I was able to narrow it down to two. And then, after multiple playbacks, I decided on one.
I think he’s the right choice to represent my characters the best.
But then, I thought, maybe I should narrate the book myself, since I know the story and the characters and how they feel and act more than anyone else? Not only that, my face looks good on radio. Yes, maybe I should intervene as the author to do it myself as some have suggested. Problem is, this guy has a much better voice than I do, and the publisher probably won’t allow it, so he will win.
Narrating a book and editing my voice mistakes will take a lot of time that I just don’t have.
So, here it is. I did not make my decision whether it will be this professional narrating the audio book or myself.
In fact, if you buy the audio book you still will not ever know, unless you know my voice.
Oh yeah. Gotcha thinking huh.
in today’s world, people often listen to audio…. I honestly admit.. I tried to listen to the different content of the book 50 times… and never focused on them… maybe the problem was in the voice of the person who voiced them? I already thought about this.. anyway.. I prefer to take a book in my hands.. and enjoy my imagination.. the smell of a printed book and turning the pages…
Thanks for the comment. No worries. The book will be in standard paper, electronic and also audio book. That way everyone can choose the media they prefer.
